As the only sealing part, the isolation sleeve mainly bears the internal pressure generated by the plastic magnetic drive pump. For strength reasons, it is generally made of metal. As the isolation sleeve works in a high-speed alternating magnetic field, it generates a serious "power generation" effect, i.e. magnetic eddy current loss. The better the conductivity of the material, the larger the cross-sectional area, and the higher the speed, the greater the eddy current loss. Therefore, non-ferromagnetic materials with high resistivity should be selected whenever possible.

Commonly used metal materials are austenitic stainless steel, titanium alloy, Hastelloy, etc. Take stainless steel as an example, under the working condition of a magnetic pump 1900r/min, its eddy current loss is as high as 15%-20%. Hastelloy has high resistivity and high strength, which can effectively reduce eddy current loss, but the material cost is too high, limiting its application. Non-metallic materials can reduce or even completely avoid eddy current loss. If the working pressure is not high, you can choose high-strength engineering plastics. There are isolation sleeves made of ceramic materials abroad, whose eddy current loss is almost zero. However, ceramic materials are fragile, have poor mechanical properties and thermal shock resistance, complicated processing, high price, and difficult assembly, so they are not widely used.
At present, the magnetic pump isolation sleeve metal materials are three: titanium alloy, Hastelloy, and 316 L. Because the isolation sleeve in the high-speed alternating magnetic fieldwork, has a serious "power generation" effect, that is, magnetic eddy current loss and the better the conductivity of the material, the larger the cross-sectional area, the higher the speed, the greater the eddy current loss. Therefore, the choice of non-ferromagnetic materials with high resistivity can reduce the eddy current loss of the current situation.
Joule heat generated by eddy currents can increase the operating ambient temperature of the magnetic rotor, leading to an increase in the cost of the magnetic pump cooling system. Therefore, in order to improve the drive performance of the magnetic pump, it is necessary to control the loss of eddy currents. The application of carbon fiber composite material in the isolation sleeve of the magnetic pump can eliminate eddy currents in time and improve its heat dissipation so that the magnetic pump can operate normally and stably. Carbon fiber composite material does not expand and shrink under high and low-temperature environments, and has good dimensional stability; and because carbon fiber isolation sleeve is a non-metal material, it will not be corroded by acid, alkali, and salt, which prolongs the service life of magnetic pump isolation sleeve.
